So, who are Madison Clothing?
Madison is one of the UK’s leading technical outerwear brands, with a particular heritage in the cycling industry. Being a British-based company, they understand only too well what it takes to design clothing that performs when the weather turns against you.
There’s another reason we turned to Madison, too. They’re one of Wychwood’s sister brands, with both teams working from our Milton Keynes HQ.
That means we have access to a wealth of technical knowledge right on our doorstep — from materials and construction to fit, movement and protection from the elements.
For our next generation of wading apparel, it made perfect sense to bring that expertise together.
Gorge Waders – proven design, refined
The Gorge Wader has long been a firm favourite with anglers looking for high-performance waders without the premium price tag.
For the latest generation, we’ve taken that trusted design and looked closely at where it could be improved. The result is a wader that delivers enhanced fit, comfort and performance, while retaining the value that has always been central to the Gorge.
The headline specification includes a 20,000mm waterproof rating, 4K breathability and sonic-welded seams, while a five-layer construction provides the durability required by anglers who spend serious time on the bank throughout the year.
Practicality has also been built into the design, with storage pockets and fit adjustments helping to make the waders comfortable and functional in use.

Gorge Waders are available for £249.99 in five standard sizes, with three King Size options also available. All are finished in Wychwood’s timeless Midnight Green, giving them a classic look with a modern technical aesthetic.
A new approach to the Wading Jacket
The collaboration with Madison doesn’t stop at waders.
Working alongside our game angling team, the Madison team has developed an entirely new Wading Jacket, designed from the ground up around the demands of the modern wading angler.
As with the Gorge Waders, the focus is on delivering serious protection without compromising comfort or movement. The jacket combines a 20,000mm waterproof rating with 4K breathability, while a three-layer stretch construction allows the wearer to move naturally without the jacket restricting body rotation.
The design has been more than 12 months in development, with particular attention paid to the demands of wading anglers — where unrestricted movement, protection from the elements and practical storage all have to work together.
A technical hood provides protection while maintaining a wide field of vision, while zipped pockets on the front and at hand level keep essential items close to hand. A further zipped rear pocket provides additional stash space.
One-touch adjustments allow the fit to be quickly refined, helping the jacket perform comfortably whether you're standing waist-deep in a river or moving between swims.
