Wychwood has a long history of servicing the various ‘big fish’ sectors in the UK angling market. This year, however, the brand turns its attention back to specialist fishing — an area that is firmly part of Wychwood’s DNA.
One of the major growth areas in UK fishing, specialist angling continues to see a surge in participation. Wychwood is now taking steps to cement its place once again as a go-to brand for tackle that goes well beyond the carp sector, offering products designed for targeting a multitude of species that reside in our rivers and lakes.
Introducing Wychwood Specialist
Wychwood Specialist will combine the brand’s heritage with its new Original Thinking mantra. The result is a range of products that have been specced and designed from the ground up, giving specialist anglers a fresh take on a thriving sector.
Marketing Manager for Wychwood, Pat MacInnes, explains:
“As long as I’ve known the Wychwood brand, it’s been a brand that’s had its history joined to targeting big fish, whether that’s carp or other species like barbel and bream. As we’ve focussed on carp fishing in recent years, we’ve seen the shift towards exploring what specialist fishing can offer anglers, and we now feel it’s the right time to revisit our roots — but with a modern twist.”
What to Expect from the Range
Under the Wychwood Specialist brand, three tiers of rods will be released, covering everything from chub and barbel fishing on rivers to tench and bream fishing on stillwaters.
The range will include rods suited to float, ledger, and feeder tactics, plus much more.
In addition to rods, Wychwood Specialist will introduce a dedicated range of luggage designed with the mobile angler in mind, alongside chairs, nets, and essential fish care accessories.
